The starting point.

Florida Handyman Service is a South Florida home services company providing residential and commercial repairs, installations, maintenance, and small remodeling projects. Built on WordPress, the website is designed to generate customer enquiries through phone calls and estimate request forms rather than online bookings.

Before launching Google Ads campaigns, the business required a reliable analytics infrastructure capable of measuring every customer interaction. Accurate conversion tracking was essential to identify which marketing channels generated qualified enquiries and provide reliable data for automated bidding and future campaign optimisation.

The challenge

Handyman enquiries happen off-site, with no reliable lead tracking

Unlike an eCommerce website, customers do not purchase handyman services online. Most new jobs begin with a phone call or an estimate request submitted through the website, making reliable lead tracking essential for measuring marketing performance. Without a complete Google Analytics 4 implementation, the business could not accurately attribute customer enquiries to advertising campaigns. In addition to the primary conversions, the client also wanted visibility into how visitors interacted with every available communication channel, including email, maps, and social media platforms. The business also required behavioural analytics and audience creation before launching Google Ads to support future optimisation and remarketing activities.

The solution

GA4 + GTM event tracking wired into Google Ads conversions

A complete Google Analytics 4 Setup was implemented using Google Tag Manager as the central measurement platform. Rather than measuring only page views, the tracking strategy focused on every meaningful interaction that could generate a new customer enquiry. Custom events were configured to measure contact form submissions, phone number clicks, email clicks, Google Maps clicks, Facebook clicks, Instagram clicks, WhatsApp clicks, Telegram clicks, and YouTube clicks. The primary business conversions, contact form submissions and phone number clicks, were validated using Google Analytics 4 DebugView and Google Tag Manager Preview Mode before being imported into Google Ads. This enabled advertising campaigns to optimise using the Maximise Conversions bidding strategy based on verified customer enquiries. Microsoft Clarity was integrated alongside GA4 to provide heatmaps and session recordings, allowing the business to analyse visitor behaviour, identify friction points, and continuously improve landing page performance. To support future marketing activities, additional Google Analytics audiences were created for remarketing and audience segmentation, providing a scalable foundation for future Google Ads campaigns.

Successfully implemented a complete Google Analytics 4 measurement infrastructure for a WordPress lead generation website. Configured conversion tracking for contact form submissions, phone number clicks, email clicks, Google Maps interactions, and social media clicks including Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, Telegram, and YouTube. Microsoft Clarity was fully integrated to provide heatmaps and session recordings for behavioural analysis. After validating the tracking implementation, the primary conversion events were imported into Google Ads, enabling advertising campaigns to optimise using verified customer enquiries with the Maximise Conversions bidding strategy. Additional Google Analytics audiences were also created to support future remarketing campaigns and audience segmentation.
